We’re thrilled to kick off the summer season with a burst of excitement as we unveil our much-anticipated theme for the 2024 Summer Reading Program: “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”

At the Custer County Library, we believe that every page turned, every story shared, and every new adventure embarked upon within our walls holds the potential to ignite the imagination and spark the spirit of exploration within each of us. That’s why we’re dedicated to bringing you a reading program that promises thrills, discovery, and unforgettable experiences for readers of all ages.

Whether you’re a curious child diving into the pages of a beloved picture book, a young adult seeking out new worlds in the latest YA novels, or an adult craving the excitement of a gripping mystery or captivating memoir, we have something in store for you.

We’re making some changes to our circulation policies and copy/printer fees to better serve you. Here’s what you need to know:

Circulation Policies Update:

In response to feedback from our valued patrons and to better manage our library resources, we’ve revised our circulation policies. Previously, materials were automatically renewed up to two times beyond the initial checkout term. However, we’ve adjusted this policy to provide one courtesy renewal, provided there are no existing holds on the item. This change is intended to ensure fair access to materials and reduce instances of overdue items. Should you require additional time with your borrowed items, please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance with renewals.

Copy/Printer Fees Update:

We have updated our copy and printer fees. Black and white prints cost 10 cents per side and color prints are available for $1 per side. This adjustment is necessary to cover our printer contract costs while maintaining affordability for our patrons.

Wireless access is offered 24/7 from the library parking lots. No password is required at Custer. The Hermosa password is Welcome123.
